You Had Me at Merlot – How To Wear Color In the Winter: Day 1
Most of us play our clothing safe in the winter–black, brown, maybe some red for the holidays, though we typically look (and feel) better in color. I am absolutely guilty of this myself: I dress in black turtlenecks to highlight my blonde hair and blue eyes, even though I tend to receive more compliments on my outfits when wearing color! This winter, break out of your color comfort zone with me.
This four-part series will help you easily start incorporating color into your everyday winter wardrobe, no matter the occasion or temperature.
Day 1: You had me at Merlot
Merlot, wine, burgundy…whatever you call it, it’s the perfect color to start to a slow incorporation of color. The color itself is always an essential fall beauty trend, it’s a rich, universally flattering tone to wear on your lips when the temperatures drop. I paired it with black, but the hue styles well with virtually any neutral.
I’ve linked some of my favorite burgundy pieces of the season below, as well as similar pieces to my look.
